On 9/13/09, the Somers Resident State Trooper’s Office received a complaint regarding a sexually explicit ad that was posted on the Craigslist website. Troopers initiated an investigation that revealed that there were multiple ads posted by the same person identifying a specific business and the employees of that business.

The State Police computer Crime Unit obtained evidence during the investigation that the accused was having inappropriate explicit conversations with a 15-year-old juvenile. State Police Detectives from the computer crimes unit obtained a search and seizure warrant from Superior Court to search the accused Leighton’s residence in Somers.

On 10/1/09, the search warrant was executed and the accused was arrested and charged with Breach of Peace (3 counts), Harassment (2 counts) and Risk of Injury to a Minor.

The accused was released on a $25,000 bond and is schedule to appear in Rockville Court on 10/14/09.
