                        STATE POLICE CASINO UNIT INVESTIGATES
                               AND MAKES ARRESTS IN CHEATING
                               DURING GAMBLING/LARCENY CASE

   In December 2007 the State Police Casino Unit received a complaint from the Mashantucket Pequot Inspector Generals Office of a possible dealer / agent cheating fraud on the game of Craps at Foxwoods Casino. The complaint alleged that craps dealer and casino patrons were involved in the cheating scam.

   A criminal investigation was initiated by the State Police Casino Unit Detectives into the allegation. 

   State Police Detectives utilized information and assistance from Mashantucket Tribal Surveillance department, Mashantucket Pequot Inspector Generals Office, Mohegan Tribal Surveillance Department and Mohegan Tribal Gaming Commission.

   State Police Detectives during the course of the investigation conducted numerous interviews which involved about 20 employees of Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casinos.  As a result of information and evidence discovered during this investigation 15 arrest warrants being submitted to Superior Court GA-10.  The court issued 15 arrest warrants in this case.

   To date two arrest warrants were served on accused Richard Taylor and Mattie Tarlton.

   Additional arrests will take place in this case. 

   The cheating involved the recruiting of several casino employees to accept late bets on the table game of craps and the dealers later received payments from involved accused at an off site location for their involvement in the scam.

   The accused were processed and released on bond to appear in GA#10 to answer the charges. The additional accused in this case will be given the opportunity to surrender to State Police to be formally arrested.     

   The investigation is continuing.
