January 10, 2007

 ROBBERY/ KIDNAPPING- CHUCKY’S CONVENIENCE STORE 599 HARTFORD PIKE DAYVILLE, CT.

On January 6, 2007 at 1:05 Am, a male subject entered the Chucky’s Convenience Store and went into the bathroom while the clerk waited on a customer. The customer left and then the male subject exited the bathroom. He put on a pair of sunglasses from the sunglasses rack and approached the teller. When the teller asked if he was going to pay for the glasses, the male subject demanded all the money from the cash register. The subject jumped over the counter, pushed the clerk and proceeded to take the cash from the register. The subject prevented the clerk from calling for help and then physically escorted her to a walk-in cooler where he placed her inside. The subject fled the area in an unknown direction. Troopers and Detectives, including K-9 Units responded to the scene to investigate and attempt to locate the suspect. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken during the robbery. The clerk was not injured.

Surveillance photographs of the robbery suspect were published in local newspapers and broadcasted on media sources which led to the identification of the suspect by a citizen.

On January 10, 2007 Detectives from the Eastern District Criminal Investigation Unit at Troop D Danielson obtained an arrest warrant for Jacob R. Burhoe DOB 04-20-1982 of 166 Grove Street Putnam, CT for his participation in the robbery on 01-06-07. On 01-10-2007 at approximately 3:50 PM Burhoe turned himself in at Troop D Danielson and was arrested. Burhoe was charged with Kidnapping First Degree, Robbery Third Degree, Larceny Fifth Degree, Threatening and Interfering with an Emergency Call. Burhoe was held on a court set $50,000.00 bond. He is scheduled to appear at GA# 11 Danielson on 01-11-2007
