                                    MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND STATS

   The Connecticut State Police participated in the National C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) program over the Memorial Day Weekend.  During this Memorial Day Holiday Weekend Connecticut State Troopers patrolled Connecticut’s roads using traditional patrol cars and unmarked non-traditional police vehicles. Troopers made several arrests over the holiday. The Memorial Day Weekend count began at midnight on May 26th and ran through midnight May 30th.

   The State Police holiday operation remained in effect throughout the Holiday weekend. The program was not solely to issue tickets, but to remind motorists, as we begin the summer season, to use good highway safety sense and keep our highways accident free.

   The Connecticut State Police are asking all motorists to join the State Police team throughout the summer months. All motorists were asked to exercise caution on the roads and report any suspected drunk driver by calling 911, this is a true emergency.
