                        CONNECTICUT STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE ASSAULT

Location of Incident: Baron Dr. Ledyard, CT

Date of Incident: 12/28/2006

   On 12/28/06, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Connecticut State Police Troopers from Troop E in Montville and Officers from the Ledyard Resident Troopers Office responded to an emergency call for help at a private home located on Baron Drive in Ledyard for a report of an assault.

   Upon arrival, responding Troopers and Town Officers discovered that there were three adults in the home and an altercation had taken place in the home resulting in two adult victims being injured. One of the injured victims had sustained several stab wounds while the second victim was suffering other non-life-threatening injuries. Both victims were treated at the scene by EMS personnel and both were transported to area hospitals for treatment of their injuries. The stab victim is reported to be in serious condition. The third adult male fled the scene.

   State Police Detectives from the Eastern District Major Crime Squad were assigned to respond to this scene to conduct a criminal investigation into this incident. As a result of facts and circumstances uncovered in this investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained by State Police for the suspect in this case.

   State Police Detectives are presently attempting to locate the suspect: ERIC HUERTAS, DOB 3/4/81, LKA 6 Baron Ct. Ledyard, CT.   State Police hold an arrest warrant to charge the accused with Attempted Murder and are asking anyone who knows the whereabouts of this individual to contact State Police at (860) 848-6500.  All calls will be kept in strictest confidence.

   This case is presently under investigation.
