Watershed Management Plans and Documents

Watershed Planning documents

Watershed planning can take many forms, but a watershed-based plan refers to a specific type of planning document developed using the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s nine-element framework. This approach ensures that local water quality impairments are clearly identified and that practical, achievable strategies—along with an implementation timeline—are established to address nonpoint source pollution affecting the watershed.
