Emergency Burn Ban In Effect 10/26/24 - An emergency burn ban is now in effect for all Connecticut State Parks, Forests, and Wildlife Management areas, prohibiting the use of all outdoor grills, firepits, and campfires, and the kindling and use of flame outdoors. DEEP and local agencies are working to contain several active fires across the state. Please avoid all affected State Parks and Forests, as well as the blue-blazed Mattabesett Trail. The Enduro Trail in Voluntown and portions of North Stonington within the Pachaug State Forest are closed at this time. Please note that today's forest fire danger report remains at an 'extreme' level. More information about the current fire danger, burn ban and recommended safety measures can be found here

Water Quality Planning ListServ

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection uses the Department's web site to provide information about topics pertaining to water quality based programs within Connecticut.  These  updates may include information on the Water Quality Standards, TMDLs, Monitoring and Assessment, Watershed Management, Non-Point Source and 319 Programs, Aquifer Protection, Municipal Facilities, and other water quality programs or projects. If you would like to receive notice of water quality program updates by e-mail, please subscribe to the WQPlanning listserv.

To subscribe to the Listserv:

  1. Compose an email to listserv@list.ct.gov from the email address you wish to have added.
  2. You may leave the subject line blank, and in the body of the message type:  
    Subscribe DEEP_WQPlanning   YourFirstName   YourLastName
    (Substitute your first and last name here.)

    Note: If you have an e-mail signature, header, and/or footer set up to be automatically included in emails, you will need to delete these before sending the subscribe request.
  3. After you send the email, you will receive an e-mail confirmation request. Follow the directions to confirm your email address.
  4. You will then receive an e-mail that you have successfully subscribed to the listserv.
To unsubscribe from the Listserv:
  1. Compose an e-mail to listserv@list.ct.gov
  2. Leave the subject line blank and in the body of the message type:
    Signoff   DEEP_WQPlanning
  3. Requests to unsubscribe must be sent from the same email account used when subscribing to the email list.
  4. You will then receive an e-mail that you have successfully unsubscribed from the listserv.
