Construction Project
New Bathroom Building Construction
This project was completed in 2018.
Work was initiated in the summer of 2017 on the construction of a completely new bathroom facility at Chatfield Hollow State Park in Killingworth. After design work was completed and a site was selected, the location was cleared of vegetation and graded. The foundation footings were poured and have dried. Work on this project was completed in 2018.
Renovations has been completed on the Oak Lodge constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the mid-1930s at what was then Camp Roosevelt, the state’s first CCC camp.
Renovations, literally from the ground up, included reinforcing and replacing areas of the foundation and sills as needed, reframing and strengthening walls, replacing and/or repairing and repainting windows, and reroofing the 80 plus year old structure.
