Emergency Burn Ban In Effect 10/26/24 - An emergency burn ban is now in effect for all Connecticut State Parks, Forests, and Wildlife Management areas, prohibiting the use of all outdoor grills, firepits, and campfires, and the kindling and use of flame outdoors. DEEP and local agencies are working to contain several active fires across the state. Please avoid all affected State Parks and Forests, as well as the blue-blazed Mattabesett Trail. The Enduro Trail in Voluntown and portions of North Stonington within the Pachaug State Forest are closed at this time. COMMISSIONER’S FINDINGS/REGULATORY CONDITIONS

The proposed activities include rehabilitating Bridge No. 06772 (that carries Route 63 over Straitsville Brook) by relining the interior of the existing corrugated steel arch culvert with a new 8 ft x 5 ft 6 inch corrugated steel tunnel plate liner, and installing a 140 ft rip rap revetment to stabilize an eroding embankment approximately 300 ft downstream from the current structure. The project will affect a total of 6920 sf of state watercourse (no wetland impacts).

Pursuant to CGS Section 22a-39, DEEP has determined that the regulated activity is not likely to have a significant impact on the wetlands or watercourses and hereby publishes its intent to waive the requirement for public hearing.
