Project Description: 202503528 - Application to modify an existing permit. The current permit authorizes the transfer of 1.61 million gallons per day (MGD) to transfer water through the Corbin Avenue, South Main Street (New Britain Road), and Shuttle Meadow Avenue interconnections between the New Britain Water Department (NBWD) and Kensington Fire District (KFD). The modification proposes that the maximum authorized amount of transfer is 2.75 MGD.

NOTICE OF HEARING
DEEP will hold an informational public hearing on this application on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. through Zoom, an online internet meeting platform. The hearing will consist of informational presentations by the parties and the collection of public comments on the record.

Persons who wish to speak or submit written comments at the hearing may sign up to do so in their registration. Persons must register with full names; use of initials, phone numbers or other abbreviations will not be accepted.
The informational hearing will be moderated and recorded by a DEEP hearing officer and will begin with presentations from the applicant and DEEP, followed by the receipt of oral and written comments from members of the public.
Written comments will be accepted after the informational public hearing until the close of business on January 21, 2026, when the hearing record will close. All written comments shall be submitted to DEEP.Adjudications@ct.gov.
After the hearing record is closed, DEEP staff will prepare a response to comments document.
