Slab Wood for Firewood at the DEEP Sawmill

There is currently no slabwood available for sale. Please check back in the future; this website will be updated when it becomes available.

The DEEP Sawmill in Portland (163 Great Hill Road) has bundled slab wood occasionally available for sale on a first-come, first-served basis. The slabs are the outer round portions of sawn logs, and they make excellent firewood. The roughly one cord bundles (4’ x 4’ x 8’) are available for $100.00 per cord for hardwood and $50.00 per cord for softwood.

Bundles can be picked up and paid for by appointment ONLY during the sawmill's open hours: Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

DEEP has a loader for loading a trailer, but cannot use it to load the back of a truck due to the risk of damage. If you only have a truck, staff can set a bundle to the side, cut the bands, and load it onto the truck by hand.
