Emergency Burn Ban In Effect 10/26/24 - An emergency burn ban is now in effect for all Connecticut State Parks, Forests, and Wildlife Management areas, prohibiting the use of all outdoor grills, firepits, and campfires, and the kindling and use of flame outdoors. DEEP and local agencies are working to contain several active fires across the state. Please avoid all affected State Parks and Forests, as well as the blue-blazed Mattabesett Trail. The Enduro Trail in Voluntown and portions of North Stonington within the Pachaug State Forest are closed at this time. Rocky Neck State Park is also closed until further notice due to a brush fire. Please note that today's forest fire danger report remains at a 'very high' or 'extreme' level. Youth Programs and Professional Development

The Kellogg Environmental Center offers workshops and programs for all ages, including the adult learner.  Schools, scouts, clubs, and community groups are welcome to request speakers and programs based on their needs.  Our educational offerings, program information, and booking information are provided using the links below.
  • Student Based Field Studies: Menu of programs for field trip visits for grades 3-12; topics are also available for visits to schools or centers.
  • Professional Development Workshops: on a wide variety of environmental topics for formal and informal educators.  Scheduled year round through the environmental center, these workshops are offered at the Kellogg Environmental Center and can be arranged for other locations.
  • Scout Programs:  Scouting leaders may participate in programs designed to help scouts meet badge requirements or provide program support.  Besides attending special badge day programs, leaders may also register scout dens, packs, troops, or individuals for general public programs, as well.
