Mindfulness in the Museum: A Series Practice Inspired by the History of the Canterbury Female Boarding School

"Let us try to abide by her counsel, and feel at peace with all..." --Student, The Liberator, August 3, 1833

The Prudence Crandall Museum will host a series of mindfulness programs to explore deeper source connections between relevant aspects of the Canterbury School story and the individual lives of participants through breathwork techniques and introspective readings of primary sources.  Join wellness educator Robin Thompson, RN, and museum curator Joanie DiMartino as we gather together in the museum for an eight-week summer series of mindfulness sessions inspired by themes of peace, community, strength, and more related to the 1830s events at the Canterbury Female Boarding School.

Dates: June--August,  Sundays, 6/23, 6/30, 7/7, 7/14, 7/21, 7/28, 8/4, 8/11

Time: 9:30 am to 11 am (first and last sessions will begin slightly earlier)

Cost: $80 for series; sliding scale available. Contact the museum with inquires. The cost of the program includes guided tour of museum at 11:30 am on 6/23, handouts, optional assignments, & weekly readings.

Location: Prudence Crandall Museum, 1 S. Canterbury Rd., Canterbury, CT 06331
