How To Apply

- Applications can be submitted via email as Word or PDF documents.
- Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.Please allow up to 30 business days for DECD to process applications.
The certification process is non-competitive. Each application will be evaluated on its own merits. There is no limit to the number of groups that can be certified in a particular region of the state.
Certification does not automatically guarantee state funding for a CDC. It must actively pursue and apply for funding opportunities as they become available.
To maintain certification, a CDC must submit documentation annually including:
- Board membership on an annual basis
- Audited financial statements and 990
- Letter of Good Standing from the CT Secretary of the State
