Community Development Corporation (CDC) Certification Process

How To Apply

  1. Applicants can download the application form here.
  2. Applications can be submitted via email as Word or PDF documents.
  3. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.Please allow up to 30 business days for DECD to process applications.

The certification process is non-competitive.  Each application will be evaluated on its own merits.  There is no limit to the number of groups that can be certified in a particular region of the state. 

 

Certification does not automatically guarantee state funding for a CDC. It must actively pursue and apply for funding opportunities as they become available.

 

To maintain certification, a CDC must submit documentation annually including:

  1. Board membership on an annual basis
  2. Audited financial statements and 990
  3. Letter of Good Standing from the CT Secretary of the State
