Recall Notice: Caraluzzi’s Markets Issues Voluntary Recall of Italian Style Seafood Burgers Containing Undeclared Egg

The burgers contain undeclared egg, a major allergen.

 

HARTFORD — The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection Food, Standards and Product Safety Division (DCP) and the Department of Public Health are warning the public that Italian Style Seafood Burgers sold at Caraluzzi’s Markets have been voluntarily recalled due to undeclared egg, an allergen that can cause serious illness for people who are allergic.

The affected product is:

  • Caraluzzi’s Italian Style Seafood Burger, 8 oz.
  • UPC: 0-95864-80008-8

The recalled product can be identified by its clear packaging and blue overwrap label, with an expiration date of January 16, 2026.

The product was sold at Caraluzzi’s Markets in four locations: Bethel, Wilton, Newtown, and Danbury, CT, between February 18, 2025 and April 2, 2025.

The mislabeled product has been removed from sale. Consumers who have purchased Italian Style Seafood Burgers are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund or dispose of the product.
