Locksmith Registration

"Locksmithing" is the inspection, installation, recombination, rekeying services or repair of locks or locking devices. 
 
Prerequisites:

The following documentation must be attached and submitted with a completed application.  Do not submit the application until you are able to provide these record checks. 
  • A Criminal History Record report from the State of Connecticut, State Police Bureau of Identification, 1111 Country Club Rd., Middletown, CT 06457. The form is available at https://portal.ct.gov/despp.
    Select "CT Only Criminal Conviction History Record Search (Name/DOB Search will provide a copy only if a record exists)".

  • $200.00.  The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Renewal:

All Locksmith registrations expire biennially on December 31st of every even-numbered year. Renewal fee: $200.00
