How to Enter: Follow DCP’s Facebook account (Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection), like the giveaway post, and tag 2 accounts in the comments.
The winner must meet all 3 requirements to win. If the selected winner does not meet the entry requirements, a new account will be drawn until all requirements are met. In the event no eligible winner can be found, DCP reserves the right to cancel the sweepstakes.
Entries will be accepted from Monday, October 12, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. ET through Friday, October 16, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. ET to be eligible for the drawing. Entries made outside of the designated window will not be eligible.
Rules: No purchase necessary to enter or win. A purchase does not increase your chances of winning, and, in fact, there is nothing available for purchase. You must be 18 years of age or older and a Connecticut resident at time of entry to be eligible.
DCP often warns consumers about fake giveaway scams that ask for your financial information to enter. However, this giveaway is real, and only the selected winner will be asked for a photo ID through a secure platform to verify their age and their email address to claim their tickets. The selected winner will also be asked to provide a written signature attesting they meet all eligibility requirements.
This giveaway is not sponsored, endorsed, administered or associated with Facebook or the University of Connecticut.
Eligibility: You must be a Connecticut resident and 18 years of age or older at the time of entry to be eligible to enter. The giveaway is not open to State of Connecticut employees or their immediate family or household members. “Immediate family members” shall mean parents, step-parents, children, step-children, siblings, step-siblings, or spouses. “Household members” shall mean people who share the same residence at least three months a year. The selected winner will also be required to provide a written signature attesting they meet all eligibility requirements.
Winner Selection: On the Monday following the contest closure date, DCP will utilize AppSorteos, a platform used to assist with social media giveaways, to randomly select an account in the comments section. DCP will manually verify that the account tagged two accounts in the comments section, liked the post, and followed DCP’s Facebook account during the entry window. If the selected account does not meet the entry requirements, DCP will repeat the selection process until all requirements are met.
The selected winner must be able to attend the UConn football game specified in the giveaway post. If the winner is unable to attend the game, they forfeit their right to the prize, and a new account will be randomly selected. DCP will manually verify that the new account has met all 3 entry requirements.
Notification: The selected account will be announced in a public Facebook post on Monday, October 19 and will be tagged in the caption. In addition, DCP social media team will send a private message to the account with instructions on how to claim their prize. To claim their tickets, the selected winner must send their email address and send a copy of their photo ID for proof of age, through a secure document upload link. The selected winner will also be required to provide a written signature attesting they meet all eligibility requirements.
Winner must send their email and proof of age within 48 hours of receiving DCP’s private message, with the time running from the timestamp on the message. If the winner fails to provide all required verifications within the first 48 hours, the winner forfeits their prize, and DCP has the right to select a new winner.
Expenses: The winner and their guests are responsible for all costs, fees, taxes and expenses associated with the prize award, including but not limited to, all federal, state, and local taxes on the prize and any travel or parking costs. By accepting the prize, winner and their guests agree to the terms and conditions provided by the ticket. Lost or stolen tickets, vouchers, certificates, or coupons will not be replaced. Prizes may be subject to additional terms and conditions imposed by third parties. DCP is not responsible for any additional rules or restrictions imposed by a third party that are related to this giveaway.
Cancellation Policy: In the event that the football game is cancelled for any reason, the contest is cancelled and no prize will be awarded. In all circumstances, DCP reserves the right to cancel the contest if prize (or portions thereof) cannot be awarded as described. DCP will determine all elements of prizing in its sole discretion. Prizes are non-transferrable and may not be changed or redeemed for cash. Prizes are awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee express or implied by DCP.
In the event that the football game is rescheduled to another day for any reason, tickets for the new date will be awarded. DCP reserves the right to cancel the contest if the prize (or portions thereof) cannot be awarded as described, even if rescheduled.
The Department of Consumer Protection disclaims all and any liability for the quality and nature of any third-party product accepted by the winner. The selection of this prize is dependent upon the winner’s compliance with these Official Rules, including if the winner fails to provide proof of age, signed attestation, or email address within the 48-hour window, they will forfeit their prize and the prize may be awarded to another winner.
DCP is not liable for injuries, losses or damages from participation. We are not responsible for any errors of any kind whether human or electronic relating to or in connection with this contest, including administration, processing the entries, and the announcement of the prize. DCP’s decisions are final.
The odds of winning the tickets depend on the number of eligible entries.
Limitations of Liability: The Department of Consumer Protection is not responsible for late, lost, damaged, misdirected, incorrect or incomplete entries in administration of the giveaway, including errors in the contest rules and distribution of tickets. The prizes are awarded “as is.” DCP is not responsible for any misrepresentation or guaranty, express or implied, in fact or in law, concerning the prizes.
Governing Law/Jurisdiction: DCP’s UConn Football Giveaway is governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to conflicts of law principles. Entrants irrevocably consent to the jurisdiction and venue of the state courts located in Connecticut for the resolution of any claims.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: Participation in the Giveaway constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and Department of Consumer Protection decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Giveaway. DCP reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, cancel, terminate or suspend the Giveaway at any time, without notice, for any reason, including, without limitation, due to regularly-scheduled maintenance, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Giveaway and, in such situation, to select the winner(s) using all known eligible entries received as of the date of termination in a manner deemed fair and appropriate by DCP. DCP assumes no responsibility for entries it is unable to process due to network, hardware or other technical failures; or any other reason, or incomplete, damaged, misdirected, or lost entries. DCP reserves the right to disqualify any individual who is responsible for, tampers with, cheats, deceives, or otherwise engages in unfair practices concerning the administration, operation or security of the Giveaway or intends to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrant or DCP. ANY ATTEMPT BY AN INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE GIVEAWAY MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. DCP’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision. The use of automated entry systems or any other conduct that impedes the integrity of the Giveaway is prohibited.
Except where prohibited by law, entry constitutes permission to use winners’ entry, name, hometown, voice, likeness, photograph and any statements regarding this Giveaway in all media now known or hereafter discovered, for any purpose, including without limitation, in connection with, and to promote, market or advertise, the Giveaway, in whole or in part, without review, approval, credit or attribution, notification or payment from or to entrant or any person or entity, worldwide, in perpetuity, or on a winner’s list.
By entering, each entrant forever and irrevocably releases and holds harmless DCP, Meta, X, UConn, their respective directors, officers, employees and agents from and against all claims, damages or liabilities arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from entrant’s participation and/or entry in the Giveaway and/or entrant’s award, receipt or use of any prize awarded in the Giveaway. Subject to all federal, CT state and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.
