The following trainings have been approved for use by homemaker-companion agencies when onboarding a new employee. At least eight hours of paid training must be completed within 90 days of the start of a new employee's employment. The program must include:
Topic 1: Maintenance of a clean and safe environment
This includes, but not limited to, best practices relating to dressing, bathing and toileting assistance

Topic 2: Identification of reporting of abuse and neglect

Topic 3: Identification and reporting of changes in a homemaker-companion agency client's condition and service needs

If the new employee will provide services to persons with Alzheimer's disease or dementia, they must receive training in providing nonmedical services to a person with Alzheimer's disease or dementia. View trainings for Alzheimer's care
