Talking About My Generation:
Challenges and Opportunities of Generational Communication
February 23, 2023
8:30 am – 4:30 pm
Connecticut Convention Center, Hartford, Connecticut
Event Itinerary and Panel Descriptions
The last few years have challenged our assumptions about how we communicate. With the increased use of communication technology, respect for the needs of diverse audiences became critical. Listening became essential. Understanding the barriers that exist for the most vulnerable communities helped us to reach deeper into those communities with important messages of health and safety. Learning to communicate effectively with different generations is as critical to address as any other barriers to full inclusion.
Please join us as panels of experts - local, regional, national, and international - address these issues.
Together, let’s celebrate what we’ve learned from each other, ask questions, and learn new ways of thinking that will inspire us!
Keynote Speaker:
Professor Bobby Duffy
Bobby Duffy is Professor of Public Policy and Director of the Policy Institute at King’s College London, and the author of The Generation Myth: Why When You're Born Matters Less Than You Think, which challenges myths and stereotypes around generational trends, seeking a greater understanding around generational challenges.
PLEASE NOTE:
This is a hybrid event. Masks are strongly encouraged for in-person attendees.
Sponsored by the State of Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection.
