Office of the State's Attorney Danbury Judicial District
Welcome to the Office of the State's Attorney for the Judicial District of Danbury.
The Danbury Judicial District serves eight towns with about 200,000 residents in the western part of Connecticut. The Danbury State's Attorney's office is responsible for the prosecution of all criminal offenses which occur in the Judicial District, which includes the communities of Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield and Sherman.
The Office of State's Attorney for the Judicial District of Danbury, or the "Part A" office located at the Danbury Superior Court, prosecutes the more serious cases, mostly those crimes classified under state law as class A or class B felony offenses, from all communities in the Judicial District.
The Geographical Area office, located at the "Part B" Superior Court in Danbury, primarily prosecutes cases involving crimes classified under state law as class C, class D or class E felony offenses as well as all misdemeanor offenses and infractions, including motor vehicle offenses.
