A state data plan is the best way to share and use data between executive branch agencies in a lawful and trustworthy manner. Here are some of the reasons why we need a data plan:  

  • The Plan ensures data are treated as State assets, managed consistently and appropriately across state government.
  • It creates efficiencies and process improvements that will ultimately reduce the amount of overhead necessary to leverage agency data assets.

To guide future actions and initiatives, which must be consistent with the Plan going forward.

The State Data Plan provides guidelines to agency data users to ensure efficient governance of data assets, and optimal conditions for accessing, integrating, and sharing of state data.
