The Connecticut Office of Correction Ombudsman is an independent office that aims to improve the operation of the correctional systems. We also work to protect the rights of incarcerated individuals. Through our day-to-day operations, our office works to:

How the Office was established
The Connecticut Office of Correction Ombudsman was created under Public Act 22-18. The state legislature enacted .
This statute authorizes the creation of a completely independent ombudsman office. By law, our team has the independent power to investigate the complaints regarding the operations of the DOC, its internal policies, and the treatment of individuals within its facilities.
