New “Asset Subtype” Field Now Available For Vehicle Asset Reporting

11/25/2025
A recent enhancement has been implemented in the Asset Management Module that introduces a new Asset Subtype (ASSET_SUBTYPE) field. This supports our ongoing efforts to accurately track all assets and streamline reporting. The addition of the Asset Subtype field enables agencies to more clearly identify and manage the various vehicle types to make the end of year CO-648B reporting more efficient.

Beginning early 2026, the selection of an Asset Subtype will become mandatory for all vehicle assets (whenever the Asset Type is Fleet). At this time, the functionality is already available, and agencies may begin selecting an accurate Asset Subtype proactively.

The Office of the State Comptroller (OSC) will issue a formal memorandum and an additional Daily Mail announcement in January to further introduce this enhancement. In February, the OSC Central Accounts Payable Security and Asset Management team, in collaboration with the Core-CT Assets team, will host a webinar to provide guidance and instruction on using the new functionality.

If you have any questions or need assistance regarding this new reporting in the Asset Management Module, please submit a Footprints ticket to the Core-CT Asset team or send an email to osc.assets@ct.gov.
