Change Your Clock Change Your Battery
As a reminder on Sunday, November 3rd when you change your clocks back from Daylight Savings Time, take the time to test and also change the batteries in your home’s smoke and Carbon Monoxide (CO) detectors. This simple maneuver can help keep you and your family safe!
According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), nearly a quarter of fatal fire injuries occur in homes where at least one smoke alarm is present but fails to operate, often due to dead or missing batteries. Families are also encouraged to use their extra hour to review home fire safety plans as families have less than three minutes on average to escape a home fire from the time a smoke alarm goes off.
Your local fire marshal / fire department can provide additional advice to keep you and your family safe!!
