2015 Fire Service College Fair

The Connecticut Fire Academy’s Introduction To The Fire Service Program is pleased to be hosting our Fifth Annual Fire Service College Fair on Saturday, October 24th from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM.  This free event will be held at the Connecticut Fire Academy, 34 Perimeter Road, Windsor Locks.

The educational pathway toward a career in Fire or Emergency Medical Services (EMS) has not always been clear.  The Fire Service College Fair was designed to provide high school students – and their families – interested in Fire and EMS with a chance to learn about the broad array of training, educational and degree options available to them.  This event provides a central location to visit with representatives from dozens of programs from across New England and beyond.

For those students who enjoy volunteering in Fire/EMS organizations, but who want to study in other disciplines, we will be hosting two liberal arts colleges who are home to Fire Departments that are staffed by college students.

Representatives from career Fire Departments from around Connecticut will also be on hand.  These representatives will be providing information on their respective organizations, as well as first-hand information on entry-level hiring practices and what they look for in a strong candidate for employment.

As of September 15th, 25 plus presenters have committed to this event, with more expected to come.  If you are interested in educational or training options in Fire, EMS, Emergency Management or Public Safety Communications, the 2015 Fire Service College Fair is an event you’ll want to be at.
