Do State Environmental Laws Need to be Improved?

What are Your Priorities for Environmental Spending?

The Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) will hold a public forum on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 9:30 AM in Room 1C of the Legislative Office Building in Hartford. The purpose of the forum is to hear from you on recommendations for legislation for 2013.

As part of its duty to report to the governor and the public on the status of Connecticut's environment, the CEQ is required to offer recommendations for correcting deficiencies in the state's environmental laws (CGS Section 22a-12).  At the forum, the public is invited to comment on the Council's draft recommendations and to recommend additions to the list.

until conclusion (no later than noon)

The forum will follow a brief regular Council meeting (open to the public) that will begin at 9:00 and end before 9:30.  Then we will hear from you.

WHERE:
Room 1C

FORMAT:
Informal hearing. For people wishing to speak, there will be a sign-up sheet near the entrance of the meeting room. People will be called to the podium in the order in which they sign up. The exact amount of time you will have depends on the number of people who sign up to speak, but normally people get about five minutes to make their points. You can prepare a statement in advance and hand it in, or speak off the cuff. The Council will be holding a brief monthly meeting, which is open to the public, from 9:00 until approximately 9:25. The public forum will begin at approximately 9:30 AM. If you have special needs or any questions, please call the Council office at 860-424-4000 prior to November 27.
