Effective July 1, only licensed cannabis retail establishments and package stores with a waiver will be allowed to offer THC-infused beverages (beverages containing THC) for retail sale. This means that no business, other than a licensed cannabis retail establishment or package store with a waiver, can offer THC-infused beverages for retail sale on or after July 1, 2024.
On or after July 1, 2024, businesses that will no longer be allowed to offer THC-infused beverages for retail sale include, but are not limited to:
- Gas Stations
- Grocery Stores
- Breweries
- Bakeries
- Restaurants
- Cafes
- Electronic Cigarette Dealers
- Vending Machine Operators
- Lottery Retailers
May 14: Inventory
Any business with THC-infused beverages for retail sale must take inventory of their infused beverages. A $1 fee for each container of THC- infused beverages in your inventory will be due no later than June 15.
June 15: Inventory and Fee Due
You must report your inventory of THC-infused beverages from May 14 and pay the $1 fee for each container of THC-infused beverages you report by June 15. Businesses may continue to sell THC-infused beverages reported in their inventory through June 30.
June 30: Last Day to Sell
Last day for businesses, other than cannabis retail establishments and package stores with a waiver, to sell THC-infused beverages reported on their May 14 Inventory.
July 1: No More Sales
All businesses, other than cannabis retail establishments (dispensary facilities, hybrid retailers and retailers) and package stores with a waiver, must sell any THC-infused beverages they have in stock by June 30, 2024.
