Return about 5:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m.

PROGRAM: Tour of the Goodwin Conservation Center and managed forest, and the modern saw mill facilities of Hull's Forest Products, Inc.

TOUR IS LIMITED TO ONE BUS

The motor coach will depart from the Lockwood Farm in Mt. Carmel and proceed to the Goodwin Conservation Center where we will be greeted by Forester-Supervisor Steve Broderick. Dividing into two groups, we will visit a historic house, museum and small section of the James Goodwin State Forest demonstrating the issues of a "managed forest". At lunch we will be addressed by Dr. Jeffrey Ward of The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station and Steve Broderick.

Following lunch, we will board the bus for a ten minute ride to Hull's Forest Products, Inc. This is a modern, hi-tech saw mill that utilizes every bit of the tree, bark, sawdust, and both high and low grade wood. It is truly an amazing operation showing "Why active forest management makes financial and environmental sense".

There will be a fee of $25 for ESA members and $35 for non-members; the fee includes bus transportation and lunch.

Please complete the enclosed reservation form and return it to us with your check as soon as possible.  After the bus has been filled, any late reservation/checks will be returned.
