The BESB Fall MIVI-DB workshop is an introduction to teaching students, PreK-Grade 12; who have multiple disabilities, limited communication skills, and who are blind, deafblind, or visually impaired. Best practice teaching strategies will be presented supported by the following resources which explore: The Impact of Vision Loss on Development, Concept Development, Active Learning Strategies, Sensorimotor Stage Learners, The Early Identification of Hearing and Vision Loss, Deafblindness, Tactile Learners, Cortical Visual Impairment, Communication, Calendar Systems, Literacy, and Hand-Under-Hand Technique in addition to many other best practice teaching strategies.
