Attorney General’s Statement On Arrest Of Woman Accused Of False Autism Treatment Credentials

March 31, 2010

“This arrest follows a joint investigative effort by Norwalk Police, the U.S. Department of Education and my office into allegations that the operator of Spectrum Kids LLC charged taxpayers and consumers tens of thousands of dollars for services based on false credentials. More than the money, these alleged practices threatened to harm not only taxpayers and consumers -- but autistic children in need of specialized services.

“My office is continuing to work with Norwalk Police in an effort seek restitution and possibly other remedies on behalf of taxpayers and consumers who were misled into spending thousands of dollars for services based on false credentials.”
