How do I get respite support as a caregiver?

Read time: 6 minutes

The Connecticut Statewide Respite Care Program helps caregivers who feel stressed while caring for someone with Alzheimer’s disease or a related condition.

The program offers:

  • Helpful information
  • Support for caregivers
  • Help creating a care plan
  • Services for people with Alzheimer's or related dementias

You can choose how you want to receive care:

  • Use a home care agency, or
  • Hiring someone you trust

The program can pay up to $7,500 per year. The amount depends on funding and the person’s needs. A care manager helps decide how much support you can get.

This program is run by the Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter, Area Agencies on Aging, and Connecticut Aging and Disability Services.
