What social work services are available for adults who are blind?

Read time: 6 minutes

Adults who are blind can work with social workers through the Bureau of Education and Services for the Blind (BESB) Adult Services Program. These social workers act as case managers and help coordinate services.

As case managers, social workers:

  • Create a plan to help the client live independently and update it as needed
  • Connect clients to services from BESB or other agencies
  • Close a case when the client’s goals are met
