Connecticut’s Senior Medicare Patrol helps Medicare beneficiaries, as well as their family members and caregivers, understand how to prevent, detect, and report healthcare fraud in the following ways:

Teaching
  • Our trained staff and volunteers are available to give group presentations, staff an event booth, and answer your questions. Topics include common types of healthcare fraud and steps you can take to protect yourself from becoming a victim.
Counseling
  • One-on-one counseling can help beneficiaries make sense of their Medicare notices, billing, and paperwork. We can also check for errors and fraud.
Reviewing Complaints
  • We can review your complaint to determine whether suspected fraud, errors, or abuse is warranted. In some cases, we will make referrals to the appropriate state and federal agencies for further investigation.
