Connecticut Waterfront Updates

This website provides information on the status of DEEP swimming areas throughout the state to help you plan ahead. Please note that information is updated frequently but may not reflect all daily capacity closures.

Things to Consider Before You Go
  • Plan ahead! Check CT State Parks on Twitter for daily closure information before you head out for the day.
  • Choose a less popular location. Some of our most-loved parks will reach capacity and will close for the day. Try visiting a new, hidden gem location.
  • If you’re planning to visit a popular park or beach, consider visiting early in the day or on a weekday to avoid closures.
  • Carry out what you carry in. Bring your own garbage bag and make sure you leave no trace. Help us keep our parks safe, beautiful and free from litter!
  • Where lifeguards are not posted, please use extra caution.
  • Plan an alternative activity. If the location is closed or too crowded when you arrive, consider going for a hike at a nearby park, or other outdoor activity. It is important to get fresh air, sunlight, and exercise!
How to use this site
  • This website provides information on the status of beaches and swim areas to help you plan ahead. The Twitter feed provides real-time updates about all DEEP State Parks. Please note that a location listed as open is not guaranteed to be open when you arrive – so please be flexible and plan for alternative activities.
