Governor Lamont and Lt. Governor Bysiewicz Statement on Latest Hateful Symbol Found at Windsor Construction Site

(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont and Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz released the following joint statement in response to reports of another hateful symbol found today at an Amazon construction site in Windsor:

“The events of the past several weeks at the Amazon construction site in Windsor have been disgusting and hateful. The individuals responsible for these actions must be held accountable, and we urge law enforcement to be aggressive in their investigation. This repeated behavior is calculated, and clearly meant to stoke fear and encourage racism and bigotry. What we have been seeing at this facility is wrong, and we condemn these actions in the strongest of terms.”

Earlier today, Governor Lamont spoke with a senior member of Amazon’s executive team to express his concerns relating to the items found at the construction site. Connecticut State Police are assisting in the investigation, and the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection is providing expedited services as support for law enforcement.
