Governor Lamont and Lt. Governor Bysiewicz on the Passing of William J. Pape II
(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont and Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz released the following statement on the passing of William J. Pape II, editor and former publisher of the Republican-American:
“William J. Pape II was an iconic figure in Connecticut. For 60 years, Mr. Pape delivered quality journalism to the greater Waterbury area. In his own words, he was a true ‘newspaperman’ who was fiercely dedicated to in-depth local coverage, freedom of the press, and government transparency – principles that serve as the cornerstones of his legacy.
