GOVERNOR LAMONT APPROVES SEVEN STATE GRANTS TO ENCOURAGE TRANSIT-ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT IN SIX MUNICIPALITIES

 

The Office of Policy and Management is administering a competitive grant funding opportunity available to Connecticut municipalities, titled the 2022 Transit Oriented Development Grant Program (2022 TOD).

 

This program provides grants ranging from $200,000 to $2,000,000 for shovel-ready capital projects located within one-half (1/2) mile of existing public transportation facilities. Eligible activities include, but are not limited to:

  • New construction, expansion, renovation, or replacement of an existing facility or facilities;
  • Site improvements to support an eligible capital project;
  • Upgrades or improvements to existing public infrastructure to support an eligible capital project;
  • Land Acquisition in support of an eligible capital project;

Proposals shall be selected at the discretion of the OPM Secretary, and subject to availability of Transit-Oriented Development and Pre-Development funds approved by the State Bond Commission.

  • Program Announcement: July 1st, 2022
  • Applications Due: 5:00pm on September 1st, 2022
  • Anticipated Project Awards: October 1st, 2022
