2016 Responsible Growth and Transit-Oriented Development Grant Program
The 2016 Responsible Growth and Transit Oriented Development Grant (2016 RGTOD) is a competitive grant program intended to provide financial support for: (1) construction projects that expand on previous state investment in transit-oriented development, as defined in Section 13b-79o of the Connecticut General Statutes, and/or (2) planning or construction projects that demonstrate responsible growth through their consistency with the Conservation & Development Policies: The Plan for Connecticut 2013-2018.
It expands the focus of the 2015 Program by adding construction projects as eligible activities, and introducing the responsible growth component.
Similar to the previous year, the Office of Policy and Management (OPM) collaborated with other state agencies to review and rank eligible applications. State agencies reviewed a total 45 applications, and OPM ultimately selected 20 grantees to receive almost $11M in funding.
Funding is provided through a combination of the Responsible Growth Incentive account and the Transit-Oriented Development and Pre-Development account.
Grant awards were divided and assigned to various agencies to administer, based on the technical nature and scope of the particular project.
