Credit Card Payment Option for CT Income Tax


To make a credit card payment, ACI Payments, Inc. (formerly Official Payments) at www.acipayonline.com and select State Payments.

You may make your payment using your Visa, Discover, MasterCard or American Express Card for your:

    • State Individual Income Tax (CT-1040 or CT-1040 NR/PY balance due)
    • Extension payment (CT-1040EXT)*
    • Estimated payment (CT-1040ES)*
*   Coupon or extension forms are not required for Extensions or Estimated payments

A convenience fee will be charged to your account by the credit card service provider. The convenience fee is a small percentage of the total tax payment. You will be informed of the amount and you may elect to cancel the transaction.

UPDATE: Effective immediately DRS no longer will use the telephone option for credit card payments via Official Payments Corporation to pay your individual income tax liabilities by credit card. The Official Payments Corporation toll-free automated phone system 1-800-2PAY-TAX (1-800-272-9829) is no longer valid.
