About the Updated Asthma Guidelines (2020):
Updated guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Asthma, released by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), provide the best available science-based information to use in the care of people living with asthma.
Guidelines offer health care providers guidance on:
- The stepwise approach for the (medication) management of asthma in children ages 0-4 years, 5-11 years and, individuals ages 12 years and older; including decision-making on appropriate and preferred medication best management choices based on evidence.
