Route 202 (East Main Street) in Torrington, stretches from Main Street in downtown to the New Hartford town line and is the economic center for the region. Commercial growth along the corridor and adjacent residential development has contributed to traffic congestion, and in turn, crashes occur with increasing frequency. Additionally, safe pedestrian and bicycle options are limited throughout this corridor. This Corridor Study helps identify some of these issues and provides recommendations for future improvements.
