About the Speed Safety Camera Program
Serious work zone crashes are on the rise; in Connecticut, the majority are caused by speeding. In June 2021, Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont signed legislation authorizing CTDOT to establish a pilot program to operate speed safety cameras in select highway work zones. Our Know the Zone: Speed Safety Camera Program will begin April 10, 2023 and run until December 31, 2023. To learn more about the legislation authorizing the program, please see Connecticut General Statutes Chapter 241 Sec. 13a-261 through 268.
