East Haddam Swing Bridge to Open Daily
Due to mechanical and electrical issues, the East Haddam Swing Bridge is currently not opening on signal nor on the hour for maritime traffic. The Contractor is working diligently to repair the bridge to its full operational capacity.
In the interim, the bridge operators will be opening the bridge manually, these openings will be slower than normal due to the procedure being used.
Effective, Wednesday, September 28, 2022, the Swing Bridge will open twice daily, once at 10 a.m. and again at 1 p.m.
This will be in effect until further notice.
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is working to inform residents of current and upcoming construction activities through announcements such as this, as well as the project website. For more information, visit easthaddamswingbridgeproject.com.
