Governor Lamont Announces Connecticut Department of Transportation and City of New Haven Sign Partnership Agreement on Union Station
Governor Ned Lamont, Mayor Justin Elicker, U.S. Representative Rosa DeLauro, Connecticut Transportation Commissioner Joseph Giulietti, State Representative and Transportation Chair Roland Lemar, Alder Carmen Rodriguez, Park New Haven representatives, and other officials gathered today at New Haven Union Station to sign a new lease establishing a partnership agreement designed to launch a new era in the management of the two rail stations in New Haven owned by the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

Governor Lamont Signs Executive Order Directing Connecticut State Agencies To Implement Actions That Reduce Carbon Emissions and Adapt to Climate Crisis
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he has signed an executive order (Executive Order No. 21-3) directing Connecticut executive branch state agencies to take significant actions within their authority to reduce carbon emissions and prepare for the impacts of the climate crisis.

CTDOT Announces Launch of the First Name the Snowplow Contest for Connecticut Residents
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is excited to announce its first-ever “Name the Snowplow Contest.” The CTDOT Name the Snowplow Contest allows residents across Connecticut to submit their best and most creative names for four snowplows, which represent the four CTDOT maintenance districts in Connecticut. Winners will have their snowplow names featured on the side of a CTDOT tandem axle Tow Plow. The winners will be photographed next to the newly named snowplow and featured on our website and social media pages.

CTDOT Holds Public Information Meeting on Rumble Strip Installation Route 145 Deep River and Westbrook Town Line
The Connecticut Department of Transportation will conduct a Public Informational Meeting concerning the proposed Project 172-504 Deep River, Installation of Centerline Rumble Strips on Route 145 (Stevenstown Road) from Route 80 (Winthrop Road) to the Deep River/Westbrook Town Line on Thursday, December 16, 2021. The formal presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m.

As traffic fatalities continue to rise, the Connecticut Department of Transportation Office of Highway Safety is announcing a $10 discount code for Uber, to encourage people who consume alcohol or other impairing substances to use ride-hailing instead of putting themselves and others on the road at risk by getting behind the wheel.

AN ALARMING CRISIS: Unprecedented Number of Fatalities Reported on Connecticut Roads
The Connecticut Department of Transportation Office of Highway Safety is urging the public to take extra caution when they hit the roads this holiday season. According to the most recent data, traffic-related fatalities in Connecticut are up nearly 16 percent from a year ago.

CTDOT Announces Launch of New Online Hub for Transportation Data
Commissioner Joseph Giulietti announced that the Connecticut Department of Transportation has launched Open Data Hub, a new one-stop-shop for the public to access transportation data. The Hub allows the public to access and download timely location-based data and perform analysis through easy-to-use online tools, applications, and dashboards.

Governor Lamont Says State Will Illuminate the "Q Bridge" Red, White, and Blue on Wednesday and Thursday in Honor of Veterans Day
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that the State of Connecticut will illuminate the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge in New Haven – informally known by residents as the Q Bridge – in red, white, and blue lights on the evenings of Wednesday, November 10, and Thursday, November 11, in recognition of Veterans Day.

Governor Lamont Highlights Major Upgrades Coming to Waterbury Branch of the New Haven Line, Says Federal Infrastructure Bill Will Bring Additional Improvements to Connecticut
Governor Ned Lamont today visited the Ansonia Train Station, where he joined with other state and local officials to highlight his administration’s plans to install two-way rail service on the Waterbury Branch of the Metro-North Railroad New Haven Line over the coming months, and noted that the project is one of several major transportation improvements that will come to Connecticut following last week’s approval by Congress of the federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
