Installation and Revision of Traffic Control Signals in 11 Communities

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing the replacement of traffic control signals to meet current standards at 11 locations:  Bridgeport, Madison, Milford, New Canaan, New Haven, Stratford, Trumbull, Wallingford, West Haven and Woodbridge. Work will begin on or about April 1, 2022.

The project includes the removal of existing control signal and the installation of new control signal to meet current standards. Some preliminary layout work will begin prior to April 1, 2022.

Project No. 0173-0486/0487, was awarded to NY CONN Corp, of Connecticut, Danbury, CT on October 7, 2021 at a cost of $4,149,682.65 and is scheduled for completion on October 26, 2023.  This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction – District 3, New Haven.

The contractor will be allowed to work the following hours for the listed locations: 

Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. 
Saturday and Sunday between 6 p.m. and 10 a.m. 

  • Bridgeport (Intersection #015-202) Route 1 (North Avenue) and Main Street.
  • Madison (Intersection #075-210) Route 79 (Durham Road) and Green Hill Road.
  • Milford (Intersection #083-214) Route 1 (Bridgeport Avenue) and Florence Avenue/Cowles Street.
  • Milford (Intersection #083-215) Route 1 (Bridgeport Avenue) and Baker Street/Concord Avenue.
  • New Canaan (Intersection #089-217) Route 106 (Old Stamford Road) and Farm Road.
  • New Haven (Intersection#092-231) Route 80 (Foxon Boulevard) and Route 17 (Middletown Avenue).
  • New Haven (Intersection #092-201) Route 1 (Columbus Avenue) and Route 10 (Ella T Grasso Boulevard).
  • Stratford (Intersection #138-262) S.R. 113 (Main Street) and Access Road.
  • Trumbull (Intersection #144-227) Route 111 (Main Street) and Middlebrooks Road.
  • Wallingford (Intersection #148-237) Route 68 (Church Street) and Highland Avenue.
  • West Haven (Intersection #156-210) Route 122 (Campbell Avenue) and Route 122 (First Street).
  • Woodbridge (Intersection #167-211) Route 69 (Litchfield Turnpike) and Bradley Road.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.
