• 8/26/2021 Retaining Wall Repair and Safety Improvement on Route 642 in Norwich

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation’s (Department) Office of Engineering is undertaking a project to address damage to a portion of retaining wall and railing along Route 642 in Norwich adjacent to Sturtevant Street. The project will also improve the safety of Route 642 at the project location. The damage to retaining wall and railing resulted from of a vehicle impact.

• 8/26/2021 Gas Main Water Main Installation on Route 124 in New Canaan

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that gas main and water main installations will be performed on Route 124 in New Canaan. The project is scheduled to occur on Sunday night August 29, 2021, through Monday morning September 13, 2021.

• 8/26/2021 Rehabilitation of Retaining Wall Along Route 1 in Groton (Mystic) to Begin

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the project for the rehabilitation of the retaining wall along Route 1 in Groton (Mystic) will begin on August 30, 2021.

• 8/25/2021 Scheduled Ramp Closures for Milling and Paving Operations in Groton on I-95 Northbound and Southbound

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing scheduled ramp closures in Groton on I-95 northbound and southbound between Exits 85 and 89 to facilitate milling and paving activities.

• 8/25/2021 Scheduled Closure and Detour of Mosher Avenue in Groton for Bridge Work

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the scheduled closure and detour of Mosher Avenue in Groton from September 7, 2021, through December 1, 2021. The closure and detour are necessary to facilitate construction activities associated with the rehabilitation (complete superstructure replacement) of Bridge 03903 which carries Mosher Avenue over Amtrak Railroad in Groton.

• 8/24/2021 Scheduled Nightly Closures of Route 8 Southbound and Exit 19 (I-84 WB to Route 8 SB) in Waterbury

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the scheduled nightly closures of Route 8 southbound and Exit 19 (I-84 westbound to Route 8 southbound) in Waterbury from September 7, 2021, to October 1, 2021. The closures will occur nightly from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The closures are necessary to facilitate ongoing construction activities associated with the rehabilitation of the Route 8/I-84 Mixmaster.

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a chain link fence Installation will be performed on Route 620 (Mashapaug Road) in Union.

• 8/24/2021 Milling and Resurfacing Project on Route 14 in Plainfield

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 14 in Plainfield.

• 8/24/2021 Replacement of Culvert on Route 215 in Groton

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation’s (Department) Office of Engineering is developing plans to replace an existing culvert located under Route 215 adjacent to Anderson Marsh and Beebe Cove in Groton. The purpose of this project is to address the deficiencies associated with the existing culvert and endwalls.

• 8/22/2021 Scheduled Closure of One Lane of Route 5/15 Southbound in East Hartford Over the Weekend of August 27, 2021

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that one lane on Route 5/15 southbound in East Hartford will be closed for the upcoming weekend from Friday night, August 27, at 9:00 PM, until Monday morning, August 30, 2021, at 6:00 AM. Only one travel lane will remain open during the scheduled closure. The closure is necessary to facilitate ongoing construction activities associated with the I-91 Charter Oak Bridge project.

• 8/22/2021 Milling and Resurfacing Project on Route 510 in East Windsor and Enfield

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 510 from South Main Street to King Street in East Windsor and Enfield.

• 8/22/2021 Virtual Public Information Meeting Concerning Route 85 Corridor Improvements in Salem

  The Department of Transportation (Department) will conduct a virtual public information meeting concerning proposed Route 85 corridor improvements on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. • 8/17/2021 Scheduled Traffic Lane Shift on the Derby-Shelton Bridge Carrying Bridge Street over the Housatonic River in Shelton

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is a announcing that on August 25, 2021, traffic lanes will be shifted towards the south side of the Derby-Shelton Bridge, and that the north-side sidewalk will be closed to facilitate construction activities associated with the rehabilitation of the bridge.

• 8/17/2021 Scheduled Closure and Detour of Beacon Street in Norwalk for Bridge Construction Activities

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the scheduled closure and detour of Beacon Street in Norwalk from Monday, August 23, 2021, through Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Beacon Street will be closed at the intersection of Beacon Street at Strawberry Hill Avenue and Beacon Street at MacIntosh Road. The closure is necessary to facilitate ongoing construction activities associated with the rehabilitation of Bridge0061 carrying Strawberry Hill Avenue over I-95 in Norwalk.

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing a scheduled two-week closure and detour of Granite Avenue between Orchard Street and Route 7/44 in North Canaan. The detour will occur from Monday, August 23, 2021, at 7 AM, through Friday September 3, 2021, at 3:30 PM.
