Replacement of Traffic Signals in District 1

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the commencement of work for the installation and replacement of traffic signal equipment in various towns of District 1 starting January 1, 2022.

The project consists of the installation and replacement of span poles, mast arms, signal heads, span wires, conduits, fiber interconnect, pedestrian countdown heads, signing and pavement markings, and ADA conforming sidewalk ramps at 10 traffic signal locations. The following intersections are included:

  • Route 9 NB On-Ramp at Christian Lane (Intersection No. 007-235) in Berlin
  • Route 10 at East Johnson Ave and West Johnson Avenue (Intersection No. 025-205), Route 68/70 at Route 68, Mountain Road and Quarry Road (Intersection No. 025-209), Route 70 at Marion Road (Intersection No. 025-210), Route 10 at I-691 WB Ramps (Intersection No. 025-227), Route 10 at I-691 EB Ramps (Intersection No. 025-228) & Route 10 at Fieldstone Court (Intersection No. 025-234) in Cheshire
  • Route 83 at Route 140 (Intersection No. 047-210) & Route 83 at Mountain Road (Intersection No. 047-213) in Ellington
  • Route 175 at Ridge Road (Intersection 159-218) in Wethersfield

DOT Project No. 0171-0441 was awarded to The NY Conn Corp. at a cost of $3,837,785.00 on November 17, 2021 and is scheduled to be completed on July 19, 2023. This project is administered by District 1 Construction, Rocky Hill.

 

LANE CLOSURE INFO-

 

The Contractor will be allowed to interfere with traffic Monday through Friday between 9:00 am – 3:00 pm, and 6:00 pm – 6:00 am; and Saturday and Sunday between 6:00 pm – 10:00 am.
