  • 12/10/2020 Scheduled Upcoming Closure of Beachside Avenue Bridge over I-95 in Westport

    The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the scheduled closure of the Beachside Avenue Bridge over I-95 in Westport will occur on January 4, 2021. The closure is necessary to facilitate ongoing construction activities associated with the full replacement of the entire bridge structure. The closure will remain in place until approximately September 14, 2021. Signage will be in place to guide motorists around the closure with a short detour utilizing local roads.

  • 12/3/2020 Scheduled Ramp Closures on I-395 Northbound at Exit 13B in Norwich

    The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing scheduled ramp closures at the I-395 northbound Exit 13B off-ramp in Norwich, beginning on December 6, 2020, and continuing through December 18, 2020. Traffic will be detoured to Exit 14. The ramp closures will start at 7:00 PM and be removed by 6:00 AM.

    The Connecticut Department of Transportation (Department) will conduct a virtual public information meeting concerning the proposed replacement of the retaining wall at the south end of Bridge 01765 in Hartford, on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be live streamed via Microsoft Teams Live Event and YouTube Live. A Question and Answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation. The presentation will be recorded.     The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a bridge maintenance project will be performed on I-95 northbound and southbound in Greenwich. Work is scheduled to occur the nights of Monday, December 7, 2020, to the morning of Friday, December 18, 2020. The work involves milling and paving activities on Bridge 6015 over the Mianus River.

  • 11/30/2020 Scheduled Closure of Exit 13B Off-Ramp on I-395 Northbound in Norwich

    The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the scheduled closure of the I-395 northbound Exit 13B off-ramp in Norwich on December 2, 2020. Traffic will be detoured to Exit 14. The closure is necessary to facilitate the replacement of existing three-cable guiderail with new guiderail, the installation of an impact attenuation system in the exit gore area, and grading and slope protection along the ramp where required.

  • 11/24/2020 Traffic Control Signal Equipment Upgrades in Vicinity of Fishbein Park in Wallingford

    State Project 0170-3490 will replace the traffic control signal equipment and upgrade the pedestrian control features at the intersection of U.S. Route 5 (Colony Street) at Route 150 (Hall Avenue and Center Street) and Quinnipiac Street, which will meet the latest Federal Guidelines. It should be noted that the intersection abuts the Fishbein Park. However, impacts to the park will be minimal (de minimis) in nature as the afore mentioned upgrades at the intersection will be constructed in close proximity to the existing traffic control signal appurtenances.

    The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a bridge maintenance project will be performed on I-95 southbound in Guilford. The work consists of asphaltic plug joint repairs to the I-95 southbound Bridge 00205. This work is scheduled to occur the evening of Wednesday, December 2, 2020, to the morning of Friday, December 4, 2020.

    The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a bridge maintenance project will be performed on I-95 southbound in Milford. The work consists of asphaltic plug joint repairs to the I-95 southbound Bridge 00138. This project is scheduled to occur the evening of Monday, November 30, 2020, to the morning of Wednesday, December 2, 2020.

  • 11/24/2020 Replacement of Highway Signs and Sign Supports on Interstate 91 from North Haven to Meriden and on Route 40

    The Connecticut Department of Transportation (Department) is developing plans to replace signs and sign supports along Interstate 91 in North Haven, Wallingford, and Meriden, Route 40, and the associated on-ramps and off-ramps. The new signs and sign supports will be installed in accordance with the latest federal and state standards and guidelines. The types of signs that will be replaced include, but are not limited to, large overhead and side mounted Guide signs and smaller signs such as Exit Gore signs, Speed Limit signs, Merge signs, and Route Confirmation signs.

    The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the scheduled closure of Route 44 near the intersection of Route 169 in Pomfret Center, on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, between the hours of 9 AM and 12 PM. The closure is necessary to facilitate the installation of a new pedestrian bridge along the Air Line Trail.
