12/30/2009	Whalley Avenue (Route 63) in the vicinity of Route 69 to be Reduced to One Lane in Each Direction For Box Culvert Installation Beginning Tuesday, January 12, 2010 The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Whalley Avenue from Glenview Terrace to Westerleigh Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction at 9 AM on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 for installation of a box culvert. Completion of this work is scheduled for April 1, 2010.

12/7/2009	Route 15 Southbound To Be Closed to Traffic at the Brainard Road Off Ramp (Exit 87) in Hartford On December 8, 2009 The Department of Transportation is announcing that on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, between the hours of 6 a.m. and 3 p.m., Route 15 southbound will be closed to traffic at the Exit 87 ramp to Brainard Road for paving of the reconstructed shoulder. Route 15 northbound will not be affected by this activity.

An informal question and answer session will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by a formal design presentation at 7:00 p.m.
12/2/2009	Route 15 Southbound - West Rock Tunnel Closure in New Haven/Woodbridge Scheduled for Thursday, December 3, 2009 The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that graffiti removal will be performed on the West Rock Tunnel on Route 15 (southbound) requiring the closure of the tunnel between Exits 58 and 60 in New Haven/Woodbridge. The northbound side of the tunnel will remain open and will have alternating traffic. This project is scheduled to take place on Thursday, December 3, 2009, between 9:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. (Thursday evening).

The switch is necessary to facilitate the next stage of construction for the rehabilitation and widening of the bridge.

The specific pavement limits for this project begin at the I-91 bridge over Route 372/Berlin Road in the Town of Cromwell (mile marker 25.73) and end at the SSR 411/West Street bridge over I-91 in the Town of Rocky Hill, a total distance of approximately 3.5 miles (log mile 29.35).

9/25/2009	Route 9 (southbound) Ramp Closure Exit 14 (deKoven Drive) off ramp in Middletown The State Department of Transportation announced today that permit work will be performed on Route 9 (southbound) requiring the closure of the Exit 14 (deKoven Drive) off ramp in Middletown. This work is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 28, 2009 and continue through Saturday, October 10, 2009. This is a 24 hour a day operation and a posted detour will be in effect.

A posted detour will be in effect while the work is being performed.

9/8/2009	Weight Restriction to be Lifted on Route 7 Bridge in Salisbury The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced today that, weather permitting, the one-way temporary traffic pattern required for the replacement of the Route 7 bridge over the Housatonic River in Salisbury will be shifted from the existing bridge to the northbound lane of the new bridge on Friday, September 11, 2009. Upon this shift of traffic, the 15-ton weight restriction will no longer be in effect.

5/11/2009	Bridge Inspection – I-91 Southbound Exit 30 Off-Ramp in Hartford The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced today that a routine bridge inspection will be performed on the I-91 (southbound) Exit 30 off-ramp in Hartford. The inspection is scheduled to take place Saturday May 16, 2009 with a contingency date of Sunday May 17, 2009. The exit 30 off-ramp will be closed during the inspection process and a detour will be used to redirect traffic.
