This e-Alert Information System is designed to deliver real-time traffic delay or disruption information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Connecticut (CT) Department of Transportation (DOT)’s Operation Center staff compiles this information from reports received from local and state police and emergency response personnel. As these reports are received at CT DOT the e-alert is posted.
Only incidents that will cause anticipated delays/disruption in excess of 1 hour will be reported. Incidents expected to last less than 1 hour will not be reported. Time delays may occur between the time an incident occurs until the incident is reported to CT DOT and posted to the e-Alert information system. It is also possible for lane and road closures to exist that have not been reported.
During periods of severe inclement storm and weather conditions only general road condition information will be posted on the CT DOT web page due to storm related responsibilities of DOT staff.
